My application is complete, what happens next?

Completed applications (those with all required credentials received) will be reviewed by a departmental faculty admissions committee. The review process can typically last four to six weeks, after which candidates will be notified of the official decision via regular mail.

ADYPU will offer two kinds of Doctoral Programs suited for both academicians as well as practitioners across various multi-disciplinary courses offered by different ADYPU Schools.

For whom it is suitable?
This Program is ideally for post graduates with aptitude for research skills. It is for those who have no work-experience or wishes to pursue their careers in academics.	The Practice Doctorate Program is suited ideally for working professionals with deep professional experience of more than three years and above of practice-based experience.
Discipline of Study
This stream is ideal for disciplines like Management, Engineering, Law, Architecture, Design, Media And Communication.	This stream is applicable for disciplines like Architecture, Engineering, Design, Law, Media and Communication.
Type of Ph.D. Research
This is the pure form of research. Here the data is collected from both primary and secondary databases.	This type of research is application and practical based.
Focus Areas
It is ideally for those who have to identify gaps in existing academic theories / techniques and discover innovative and sustainable solutions.	To study and apply existing theories and techniques to a problem so as to arrive at a tangible solution as an outcome which is innovative and first of its kind.
Submission of Dissertation
Dissertation is a single monograph with clearly outlined findings that indicate definitive solutions to the problem studied.	Dissertation is a single monograph along with a tangible outcome in form of a product, technology, artifact or a design that is innovative and first of its kind.

Duration of the ADYPU Ph.D. Program

Ph.D. programs shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years.
Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the decision of Academic Council of the ADYPU on a case by case basis.
The women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) may be allowed a relaxation of two years for Ph.D.in the maximum duration. In addition, the women candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of Ph.D. for up to 240 days.
